Capital funding has been made available by NHS England for the redesign St Charles’ Health Based Place of Safety to be larger, more comfortable, and more responsive to service users, their families and staff.
The work will expand capacity from one to three suites, with one dedicated for the first time to Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster CAMHS patients. The reception area will also be refurbished, providing a Service User Café for a more welcoming and secure environment for patients and visitors.
The construction work, starting on Monday October 23, is planned to last for approximately 6 months. The work will be in two phases: the first being the reception area and the second phase involving the Health Based Place of Safety suites, from about December 2017.
