Personal safety device’s ‘industry first’

Reliance Protect, a provider of lone worker solutions, says its latest personal safety device, ID Ultra, builds on ‘the enormous success’ of its previous generations of ID badge devices, and boasts ‘a number of unique features’.

Chris Allcard, Reliance Protect’s lone worker services director, said: “Even though our previous generations of ID badge devices have become among the UK’s most popular lone worker personal safety devices, we embarked on an extensive consultation process to ensure that all of ID Ultra’s exciting new features offer genuine benefits out in the field.’

ID Ultra boasts what is reportedly ‘an industry first’ with its dual location positioning technologies. It utilises both GPS and Wi-Fi – the former to identify a user’s location when they are outside, and the latter when they are indoors. It also utilises Bluetooth technology to facilitate integration with other devices – such as wearables and medical devices – and Bluetooth Low Energy beacons for ‘granular level locating’ inside buildings – ‘a level of future proofing that will enable it to take full advantage of future technologies.

Like its predecessors, ID Ultra is styled as ‘a traditional, yet discreet’ ID cardholder with easy-to-access buttons and simple status LED lights. ‘Reliable and robust’, it is now dust and water resistant to IP67.
