Ascom will show its ‘next generation’ smartphone, the Ascom Myco 3, launched in March and specifically designed with NHS acute and mental health Trusts, secure establishments, and care homes in mind.
Ascom explained: “The Ascom Myco 3 enhances our mobile device portfolio, helping both to bring together clinical information that is often dispersed and difficult to collect, and to protect lone workers.” ‘Enabling easy access to a portfolio of healthcare apps’, the Ascom Myco 3 gives users timely access to key information – ‘helping to streamline coordination, speed of response, and delivery of care’. The ‘next generation’ smartphone is designed for ‘challenging healthcare environments, with location tracking and software that integrates with hard-wired fire, security, and staff panic alarms, and building management systems. With DECT and Wi-Fi-functionality, Ascom mobile devices provide automated, prioritised alerts to staff wherever they are, and integrate with the company’s nurse call system – which won the Building Better Healthcare Best Communication System Award last November - and is ‘customised to meet mental health organisations’ needs’.
