Enhanced range of fire alarm devices launched
Johnson Controls has introduced what it describes as ‘an innovative range’ of sounders, visual alarm devices (VADs), and visual indicating devices (VIDs), ‘to help improve performance of fire detection systems and ensure evacuation responses occur quickly during a real fire event’.
The company said: “With two leading fire detection brands in Europe – Zettler and FireClass, Johnson Controls offers highly sophisticated fire detection solutions for a range of different environments and project size.”

Polar has designed, fabricated, and installed specialist and bepsoke healthcare windows, doors, and curtain walling products, for Atherleigh Park, a new £40 m inpatient mental healthcare facility in Leigh, Lancashire for adults suffering with mental health, dementia, and memory conditions.

Horne Engineering’s ‘Care’ shower panels are specifically designed for hospitals, mental healthcare facilities, elderly, extra, and dementia care settings, and for disability access and Changing Places facilities.
‘Pollution-reducing’ coating launched

One of only seven PET-MR scanners in the UK has begun operating at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester, as part of a multi-million pound project with a major focus on dementia research, described by Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT) as ‘a pivotal moment for imaging at Manchester’.
